I recently posted the longest comment I have ever written on Facebook in answer to a young artist who was struggling,worried about sales and wondering whether to carry on.

As a result of an amazing number of request for more in the same vein I am  getting together notes from my years as a working artist which I hope will make a series of such short articles on trying to make a living, ones work itself, marketing and promotion, some practical tips, the hazards and pitfallls of surviving.
